Peer Support Group Facilitator
The Peer Support Group Facilitator at PSALT Care is a vital part of our community, providing peer support through group sessions. This role involves facilitating group discussions, fostering a supportive environment, and offering empathetic guidance to participants.
  • Commitment: At least 2 sessions per month.
  • Location: Zoom
  • Date: Monday to Friday, 11.35am-12.45pm, Wednesday, 7.15pm-9.30pm
  • Responsibilities:
    • Lead and facilitate peer support group sessions in a welcoming and inclusive manner. 
    • Effectively moderate group discussions, ensuring a safe and respectful space for sharing. 
    • Manage challenging situations with composure and sensitivity. 
    • Infuse positivity and inspiration, fostering a supportive atmosphere for participants. 
    • Empathise with participants’ experiences and challenges.
  • Requirements: 
    • Peer Support Specialist Certificate 
    • Group facilitation skills and understanding of recovery principles. 
    • Empathetic and supportive demeanour. 
    • Ability to moderate discussions effectively. 
    • Capacity to handle pressure and challenging situations. 
    • Cheerful and inspiring attitude. 
    • Familiarity with the use of recovery language.
    • Possesses a working camera for sessions conducted via Zoom, and to be switched on throughout the session to better engage the participants.
Peer Support Group Facilitator
Peer Supporters at PSALT Care play a crucial role in providing support and mentorship to individuals, including participants in the ASPIRE programme. This role involves offering guidance, sharing personal recovery experiences, fostering a supportive relationship with peers, and journeying with the peers towards their recovery goals.
  • Location: Zoom/38 Jalan Lepas
  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide one-on-one peer support and mentorship to individuals, including participants in the ASPIRE programme. 
    • Share personal recovery experiences to inspire and guide peers on their recovery journey. 
    • Maintain brief records of each befriending session, highlighting key topics discussed and any action points identified. 
    • Uphold strict confidentiality standards in all interactions with peers. 
    • Infuse positivity and encouragement into interactions with peers.
  • Requirements: 
    • Peer Support Specialist Certificate.
    • In a good state of recovery. 
    • Caring and compassionate nature. 
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. 
    • Dependable and consistent in providing support. 
    • Cheerful and encouraging demeanour. 
    • Familiarity with the use of recovery language. 
    • Effective communication abilities to engage with peers.
    • Possesses a working camera for sessions conducted via Zoom, and to be switched on throughout the session to better engage the participants.
Befriender

To provide one-to-one social support, guidance, and assistance to PSALT Care members through short 30-minute sessions via Zoom or in-person, addressing general questions, community resources, and emotional well-being.

This role could allow the volunteer to make a positive impact on the well-being of PSALT Care members and enhance one’s communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment: 6 months supporting a minimum of 2 members per month.
  • Location: Zoom/38 Jalan Lepas
  • Responsibilities: 
    • Conduct 30-minute befriending sessions with PSALT Care members. 
    • Offer a supportive and empathetic presence during the sessions. 
    • Provide information on community resources, both within PSALT Care and other relevant organisations. 
    • Help members navigate and understand available resources. 
    • Offer a listening ear and emotional support to members who may be seeking someone to talk to. 
    • Encourage open and non-judgmental communication. 
    • Maintain brief records of each befriending session, highlighting key topics discussed and any action points identified. 
    • Report any concerns or urgent matters to the relevant staff in-charge. 
    • Collaborate with other volunteers and PSALT Care staff to ensure a holistic approach to member support. 
    • Participate in relevant training sessions and debriefs. 
  • Requirements:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to provide emotional support compassionately. 
    • Knowledge or willingness to learn about community resources. 
    • Availability for scheduled befriending sessions, typically 30 minutes each.
    • Able to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of our members.
    • Possesses a working camera for sessions conducted via Zoom, and to be switched on throughout the session to better engage the participants.
Counsellor/Therapist

The Counsellor/Therapist volunteer at PSALT Care plays a crucial role in providing emotional support, guidance, and assistance to individuals navigating mental health challenges. This role is vital in fostering a supportive environment that promotes the holistic well-being and recovery of our members.

  • Commitment: 6 months supporting a minimum of 2 members per month.
  • Location: Zoom/38 Jalan Lepas
  • Responsibilities: 
    • Offer empathetic and compassionate listening to individuals seeking emotional support. 
    • Plan and document clear recovery plans for our members in recovery.
  • Requirements:
    • Uphold strict confidentiality standards to ensure the privacy and trust of our members. 
    • Reliable and committed to scheduled counselling sessions, demonstrating consistency and dependability.
    • Familiarity with recovery-oriented language to effectively communicate and engage with peers.
    • Demonstrates effective communication abilities to connect with individuals and facilitate meaningful interactions. 
    • Ability to adhere to professional counselling standards and ethical guidelines relevant to the role. 
    • Possesses a working camera for sessions conducted via Zoom, and to be switched on throughout the session to better engage the participants.
  • Qualifications: 
    • Master of Counselling or Equivalent qualifications or 
    • Interns of Master of Counselling programmes under direct supervision are also welcome.
Clinical Workshop Trainer/Facilitator

The Clinical Workshop Facilitator at PSALT Care plays a pivotal role in providing our members with valuable insights and therapeutic tools through engaging and informative workshops. These workshops focus on clinical topics such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), and Psychopharmacology.

  • Commitment: 1 year and a minimum of 3 sessions.
  • Location: Zoom/38 Jalan Lepas
  • Responsibilities: 
    • Deliver clear and comprehensive content on clinical topics, ensuring participants gain valuable insights and practical tools. 
    • Utilise effective facilitation techniques to engage participants and encourage active participation. 
    • Demonstrate domain expertise in clinical areas, providing accurate and up-to-date information. 
    • Create a lively and engaging atmosphere during workshops to enhance learning and participation. 
    • Infuse warmth and inspiration, creating an encouraging space for participants on their recovery journey. 
  • Requirements:
    • Possesses a working camera for sessions conducted via Zoom, and to be switched on throughout the session to better engage the participants.
  • Qualifications: 
    • Relevant recognised qualifications and expertise in the respective clinical areas. 
    • Able to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of our members.
Public Education Facilitator
Public Education Facilitators at PSALT Care play a crucial role in spreading awareness and destigmatising mental health conditions through the delivery of public education talks. This role aims to better equip participants with the knowledge to support themselves and their peers in mental health.
  • Commitment: 1 year and a minimum of 2 sessions
  • Location: Zoom/Singapore (in-person)
  • Responsibilities: 
    • Deliver public education talks on mental health, recovery, and related topics to diverse audiences. 
    • Share a competent knowledge of mental health concepts, recovery, and relevant subject areas. 
    • Creatively interact with participants to enhance learning and engagement.
    • Contribute to destigmatising mental health conditions through informative and engaging presentations. 
  • Requirements: 
    • Minimum degree in psychology or equivalent. 
    • A good grasp of mental health concepts and the recovery process. 
    • Competent knowledge of the subject area for public education talks. 
    • Clear and engaging content delivery skills. 
    • Facilitation skills to manage interactive sessions. 
    • Ability to creatively interact with participants.
    • Possesses a working camera for sessions conducted via Zoom, and to be switched on throughout the session to better engage the participants.
Recovery Activities Facilitator (e.g., art, music, etc.)
To provide engaging and informative workshops for PSALT Care members, contributing to their holistic well-being and fostering a sense of community. Through this initiative, you could have the opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative volunteer team. The team will aim to make a meaningful impact in the mental health community, and gain experience in workshop development and facilitation.
  • Commitment: Ad-hoc
  • Location: Zoom/Singapore (in-person)
  • Responsibilities:
    • Work collaboratively with PSALT Care to identify relevant workshop topics (e.g. music, photo-taking, grooming, resume-writing, etc.). 
    • Ensure the topics align with the interests and needs of members in mental health recovery and the organisation’s values. 
    • Plan and structure workshops with clear objectives and outcomes. 
    • Create workshop materials, presentations, or handouts as needed. 
    • Conduct workshops in a supportive and inclusive manner. 
    • Encourage member participation and interaction during sessions. 
    • Coordinate with PSALT Care for scheduling and logistics. 
    • Ensure all necessary materials and equipment for workshops are prepared. 
    • Gather feedback from participants for continuous improvement. 
    • Open to adjusting workshops based on participant needs and preferences. 
  • Requirements: 
    • Passion for contributing to the well-being of individuals in mental health recovery. 
    • Expertise or experience in the selected workshop topics. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively and facilitate group discussions. 
    • Able to maintain the confidentiality of our members.

Outdoor Walks Co-facilitator
As a Outdoor Walks Co-Facilitator, you will play a vital role in assisting with the coordination and facilitation of our nature hike and outdoor outing events. These activities aim to provide participants with an enriching and enjoyable experience in nature while promoting physical well-being and environmental appreciation. This role could give you the opportunity to gain valuable experience in organising outdoor events and fostering environmental awareness, and contribute to the well-being and enjoyment of participants during the outdoor activity.
  • Commitment: At least 6 sessions a year
  • Time: 9.15am-11.30am
  • Day: Saturday
  • Venue: Singapore (in-person)
  • Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with the staff in-charge to plan the hike/outdoor outing, including route selection, safety measures, and activity scheduling.
    • Help guide participants during the hike/outdoor outing, ensuring they stay on the designated route.
    • Prioritise the safety of participants during the activity, keeping an eye on potential hazards and ensuring everyone follows safety guidelines. 
    • Encourage active participation and interaction among participants, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere. 
    • Offer assistance and support to participants who may need help with physical challenges or have specific needs during the activity. 
    • Provide feedback and suggestions to the staff in-charge for continuous improvement of future nature hike/outdoor outing events. 
  • Requirements:
    • Passion for nature and outdoor activities
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage with participants of diverse backgrounds and age groups. 
    • Knowledge of basic hiking safety and first aid is a plus, but not mandatory. 
    • Ability to work well in a team. 
    • Physical fitness to undertake the hike/outdoor activity comfortably. 
    • Reliable and punctual attendance on the scheduled event day. 
    • Able to maintain the confidentiality of our members.
Games Night Coordinator

As a Games Night Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the organisation and facilitation of our community games night events. This event aims to provide a fun and engaging environment for participants of all ages and backgrounds.

Through this initiative, you could gain experience in event organisation and community engagement. It could also provide opportunities to make a positive impact and contribute to a fun-filled evening for the community.

  • Commitment: At least 4 sessions a year
  • Time: 7.15pm-9.30pm 
  • Day: Tuesday
  • Venue: Zoom/38 Jalan Lepas
  • Responsibilities (Zoom): 
    • Create simple and family-friendly games via Zoom for our members in recovery. 
    • Actively facilitate and engage with participants, explain game rules, and assist them during gameplay to ensure a positive experience. 
    • Encourage active participation and interaction among participants, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere. 
    • Provide feedback and suggestions to the staff in-charge for continuous improvement of future.
  • Roles (In-person):
    • Create simple, family-friendly, and safe games for our members in recovery. 
    • Help with the setup of game stations, tables, chairs, and other necessary equipment before the event starts. 
    • Actively facilitate and engage with participants, explain game rules, and assist them during gameplay to ensure a positive experience.
    • Help manage the flow of participants, ensuring fairness and order in accessing different games. 
    • Keep an eye on the safety of participants, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. 
    • Provide feedback and suggestions to the staff in-charge for continuous improvement of future.
    • Assist in cleaning and tidying up after the event, ensuring the venue is left in good condition. 
  • Requirements (both): 
    • Enthusiasm and a friendly attitude towards engaging with participants of all ages. 
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to work well in a team. 
    • Reliable and punctual attendance on the scheduled event day. 
    • Possesses a working camera for sessions conducted via Zoom, and to be switched on throughout the session to better engage the participants.
    • Prior experience in organising or assisting in community events is a plus, but not mandatory.
    • Able to maintain the confidentiality of our members.
Graphic Designer/Photographer/Videographer
To visually capture and document events, activities, and moments at PSALT Care, contributing to the organisation’s storytelling and outreach efforts.

  • Commitment: Ad-hoc
  • Responsibilities: 
    • Attend and capture photographs/videos during PSALT Care events, workshops, and activities. 
    • Ensure high-quality, creative, and respectful representation of participants. 
    • Create visual content suitable for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials. 
    • Edit and organise photos/videos for easy accessibility. 
    • Coordinate with PSALT Care to understand specific visual content needs. 
    • Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff to enhance visual storytelling. 
    • Communicate any equipment needs or issues in a timely manner. 
    • Be mindful of the privacy and comfort levels of participants in photos/videos. 
    • Obtain necessary consents for capturing and using visual content.
  • Requirements: 
    • Owns or has access to necessary equipment and software for graphic design, adequate photo taking or videography. 
    • Creativity in visual storytelling. 
    • Understanding and respect for the sensitive nature of mental health content. 
    • Able to maintain the confidentiality of our members.
